Obituary of Martha P. Watson

Martha P. Watson, 83, of West Long Branch, passed away Saturday at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mrs. Watson was a communicant of St. Jerome RC Church, West Long Branch, where she was Past President of the Altar Rosary Society and taught CCD for many years. Mrs. Watson was a member of the St. Jerome School PTA and served as their treasurer. Mrs. Watson was born in Altoona, Pa. During World War II she moved to Brooklyn, NY where she meet her husband, Francis A. Watson. After their marriage they lived most of their lives in West Long Branch. Mrs. Watson greatest joys in life were her daughters, and their husbands, and her four grandsons. She was pre-deceased by her husband, Francis A. Watson, who died in 2004. Surviving are four daughters and their husbands, Barbara Watson and her husband Robert Curley, Philadelphia, Pa., Rosemary and Brian Kristiansen, Mendham, NJ, Joyce Watson-O'Neil and her husband Richard, Boston, MA., and Denise Watson, West Long Branch; and four grandchildren, Gregory O'Neil, Neal Curley, Andrew Kristiansen and Peter Kristiansen. Visitation will be Tuesday 6 to 9 PM at the Woolley Funeral Home, 10 Morrell St. at Broadway, Long Branch. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Wed at St. Jerome RC Church, Wall St., West Long Branch. Entombment will follow in Woodbine Mausoleum, Oceanport. Those wishing to remember her may make contributions to St. Jerome School, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch. Those wishing to light a candle of remembrance may do so on the opposite page.
