Stanley Jackym, Jr.

Obituary of Stanley J. Jackym, Jr.

Stanley Joseph Jackym, Jr. of West Long Branch, entered into eternal rest at home surrounded by his loving family on the afternoon of April 23, 2020.

Stanley was born on September 12, 1940 in Elizabeth, NJ to the late Stanley and Matilda (Tackvic) Jackym.  He was raised in Piscataway, NJ and attended Metuchen High School.  After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force for 4 years, proudly serving in Germany for 2 of those years. His love of Country was only surpassed by the love he had for his family.   In 1968, he met and married his wife of 51 years and they made their home at the Jersey Shore, raising 3 wonderful girls.

Stan worked at Weldon Concrete in Keasbey for over 30 years as a batchman and was a member of Operating Engineers Local 825.  He enjoyed his job and the comradery of his coworkers. Stan was a people person who you couldn't help but want him to be your friend.

Throughout Stan’s life a menagerie of animals were fortunate enough to be rescued by him. His most beloved pets were work companions as well.  Bubba the duck was rescued as a duckling. Bubba lived at Weldon and was known by all staff and customers. Heidi, his commuter dog, was faithfully by his side in the car and office for a few years before his retirement.

Stanley is survived by his wife Linda (Robb), daughters Renee (Thomas) Freeman, Michele (Dave) Millington, and Laurie Jackym.  He leaves behind his loving sister Kathy Tarulli who shared a special bond with her big brother. Also surviving are his brother-in-law Michael Dancisin, cousin Jan Buttler, nieces Stacey (Rob) Elwood, Amy (Clint) Simek, and Karen (Bill) Bolger, grand-nephew Randy Reiser and his "Best Buddy" grandson Casey Freeman.

Stan was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Matilda Jackym (Tackvic) and his favorite sister-in-law Joyce (Robb) Dancisin.

Memorial donations may be made to VNA Hospice, c/o Foundation Office, 23 Main St., Suite D1, Holmdel, NJ 07753, who are truly angels on Earth.
